VWD Tracker (“the app”) is a personal record-keeping aid that helps people living with von Willebrand disease, and their families, log bleeds, treatments, medication and related health information on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. This policy explains what the app does with your information. VWD Tracker is designed to be private by default: your records belong to you, live in your own Apple devices and iCloud account, and are never sent to us.
VWD Tracker is developed and published by the developer contactable at info@ten13.co.uk (“we”, “us”). Because the app does not transmit your records to us, we do not hold or process your health data. Where data protection law applies, the person using the app is in control of the records they keep.
Everything below is entered by you, or by a family member you have chosen to share with, and is stored as your personal records:
Much of this is health data, and some of it may concern a child when a parent or guardian records it. Sensitive fields are encrypted in iCloud using Apple’s CloudKit encrypted-field protection, so that they are unreadable outside your devices.
VWD Tracker contains no analytics, no advertising identifiers, no usage tracking, no crash reporting service of our own, and no third-party marketing or data-broker software. We do not build profiles of you. If you choose to share a diagnostic report with us by email, it contains only what you can see on the screen you copied it from, and you decide whether to send it.
Reminders you set (for example a dose, an appointment, a medication about to expire, or a prompt to record how well a treatment worked) are scheduled as local notifications on your device. They never leave the device. The app also registers for silent iCloud notifications, which carry no content and only tell the app that your own iCloud data has changed.
You may attach a photo to a person or a bleed record. The app asks for access to your photo library or camera only when you choose to add one, uses only the photo you pick, and stores it with your records as described above. Photos are not included in the app’s JSON or CSV exports.
The optional subscription is sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment-card details or your Apple Account credentials. Apple may share aggregate, non-identifying sales information with the developer. Subscriptions are managed in your Apple Account settings. If you redeem an offer code, the redemption is handled by Apple and tells us nothing about you.
You can optionally lock the app with Face ID, Touch ID or a passcode. Biometric data is handled entirely by iOS and is never accessible to the app. An app passcode you set is stored securely in the device Keychain.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under data-protection laws such as the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR, including rights to access, correct, export, restrict and delete your information. Because your records are held on your own devices and in your own iCloud account, you can exercise these rights directly within the app. If you need help, contact us using the details below.
VWD Tracker is intended to be used by adults, including parents and guardians recording information about a child in their care. We do not knowingly collect data directly from children, and no entered data is transmitted to us.
Records on your device are protected by iOS device encryption. In iCloud, sensitive fields are stored with CloudKit encrypted-field protection, and all iCloud transfer is encrypted in transit. The optional app lock adds a further barrier on the device itself. No system is perfectly secure, and the strength of the protection also depends on the passcode and Apple Account security you use.
Because we do not receive or store your records, retention is entirely under your control. Your data remains until you delete it from your devices and iCloud, or until Apple removes it under the terms of your Apple Account.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, within the app. The current version is always available inside the app and at the address where this page is published.
If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at info@ten13.co.uk.
